About This Test

The 26-item Levenson Self-Report Psychopathy Scale (LSRP-26) is the original scale developed by Levenson and colleagues in 1995. Wang and colleagues (2018) revised and validated it among male inmates in Chinese prisons, finding support for a three-factor structure. Its 26 items assess selfishness (a selfish, harsh interpersonal style and a desire to control others), callousness (limited perspective-taking and emotional indifference), and antisocial behavior (impulsivity and tendencies toward violent or antisocial acts). It has shown good psychometric properties among prison inmates, students, and adult men in the community, with internal consistency coefficients (α) of 0.71–0.81, providing a reliable tool for assessing psychopathic traits in China.
